Twenty Questions with Tex: Marcus Mackenzie

Marcus Mackenzie was born March 17th, 3006 on the Planet Northwind, in the Capellan Confederation. Marcus came from a family of warriors, (infantry mostly, not a MechWarrior family); His father, his father before him, all were warriors. Marcus’ family lives outside the local capital where the Mackenzie Clan had a settlement. Marcus’ father and mother were both in the local defense forces, which were made up of all Scottish-ancestry troops. Local Liao leaders wanted to put the fear of God or whatever into the local people, and so “cleansed” many. Both of Marcus’ parents were killed in 3012. Marcus was saved by his aunt an uncle were he spent his childhood to teenage years. Life was hard, they fought to survive.

In 3024, Marcus entered the Northwind Military Academy, as an infantry major. During testing he qualified for a second major and enrolled in Battlemech Operations, as a mechwarrior. He graduated from Northwind Military Academy in 3028 where he joined the 23rd Redfield Cavaliers; Marcus worked with this unit from 3029-3034 as a MechWarrior. The Cavaliers performed many missions and had an impressive record of success. In 3034 the Cavaliers were disbanded, and Marcus joined the Royal Dragoon Guards.

Description: Male, Late Twenties, Just short of six foot tall, Red short hair, and facial hair. Ice blue eyes. Wears normal clothing when not on duty (Jeans T-shirts). On duty BDU and t-shirts. Speaks with a Scottish accent. Marcus is always armed with a weapon, usually a concealed pistol, even when he goes out on the town.

Marcus seems quiet at first meeting but, after people get to know him, he can be quite charming. When it is time to work he will break his back to get things done. After it is done it is “Miller time”, if you know what I mean. He will kick back after a long hard day but, it does not impair his normal work ethic.

Marcus is a soldier at heart; he will do whatever it takes to complete a mission. He does not mind getting his hands dirty. Marcus does openly practice religion of any type. He does not have any tattoos on his body, only a few scars on his right lateral chest.
