Billets at the Company Level
Company First Sergeant
- Elected by the Company from the three serving Lance NCOs.
- Company Senior NCO Billet.
- Rank : First Sergeant (E-8)
The Company NCO is the senior NCO in a given company, and as such is responsible for all enlisted and non-commissioned personnel within that company. The Company Sergeant serves as an administrative and leadership link between the officers and the other ranks, providing instruction and organization both in-game and out-of-game. This NCO should be the standard to which all members can look for knowledge of the Battletech game and universe as well as bearing and appearance when in unit uniform or garb for an event.
Responsibilities of the Company NCO include:
- All responsibilities of a Lance NCO for the Lance in which they serve.
- Ensuring that the Lance NCOs of the other lances within the company are discharging their duties in a satisfactory manner, and offering guidance and assistance to that end.
- Taking charge of the enlisted members of the Company when the officers are in conference or otherwise unavailable.
Company Commander
- Elected by the members of their Company (Usually from among the three serving Lance Commanders)
- Company Officer billet.
- Starting Rank : First Leftenant (O-2) (If the Company is less than three Lances)
- Maximum Rank : Captain (O-3)
The Company Commander is the senior member in a given Company. This means that they are responsible for all the players in that company, and for assisting the Game Mastering staff with planning events, campaign plot and administration for the Company. The Company Commander’s main job is to keep the company organized in game and out, and be ready to formulate the Company’s overall strategic and tactical deployment on the tabletop, wether in roleplay or Battltech miniature gaming. One of the Lance Commanders in the Company may be appointed Company Executive Officer by the Company Commander, and this Lance Commander will serve as the Company Commander’s deputy and assistant.
Responsibilities of the Company Commander include:
- Responsible for all duties of a Lance Commander for the Lance in which they serve.
- Responsible for the conduct of the other Lance Commanders in the Company.
- Assists the Game Mastering staff with the operations of the organization, and helps plan and execute events and meetings.
- Serves as backup OPFOR in the event that the Game Mastering staff is unavailable.
