”It was like time-travel to someone raised on New Avalon. From glass skyscrapers and skimmers I had arrived at a world composed entirely of dust, pre-fabricated buildings, and more variants of khaki and dull tan camouflage than I ever dreamed existed. For the entirety of my basic training on Galatea, I lived in a wooden barracks building with an honest-to-God tin roof. There were hundreds of buildings like this scattered around Galaport, for rent to whatever mercenary unit needed to house men and were either too poor to too cheap to do it any other way. Bare light bulbs, a steel bunk rack dated before the fall of the Star League, a scratchy woolen blanket. I’ve heard it said that generals are always training to fight the previous war. The Royal Dragoon Guards Military Academy
Members of the Royal Dragoon Guards train in a number of topics so that they know the basic knowledge of tactics, hardware, military life and Inner Sphere History necessary to portray their Personae in an entertaining and convincing manner. To that end, this web site includes information on what topics and knowledge are needed for advancement in the Royal Dragoon Guards. Members are rewarded with experience points and training awards for completing training programs. The completion of programs also unlocks the ability to move up in the specialist ranks, resulting in more earnings for the mercenary Persona.
