Training awards
Training Awards are issued for completing a course of study or training as defined by the Royal Dragoon Guards mercenary training system. The completion of these courses of study gains the member not only the device for wear on their uniform, but also a permanent base of Experience Points that may be applied to future Personae in the event that their current Persona is retired or killed.
Military Academy Graduation |

Description: |
Military Academy Graduation is a curriculum of study that covers multiple disciplines to encourage a member to develop a well-rounded knowledge of the Battletech universe, with more than just BattleMechs adn military skills. Description: |
This award is given for members who wish to assist in making the Battletech game move more quickly by becoming well-acquainted with the rules in more than the average manner. To that end, these are the only timed exams offered by the Royal Dragoon Guards, as the intent is to show that the member can make rules judgements and references quickly and without delay to the game. The Basic level covers the Introductory Rulebook, the basic 3025 rules by which the average game of Battletech is played. The Intermediate exam covers Total Warfare and everything within it’s pages- to include infantry, aerospace, vehicles and BattleMechs. To Advanced examination covers Tactical Operations and the optional rules contained therein. |

The Basic ribbon has no attachments. Company Grade includes a pair of gold crossed pistols. Field grade has silver crossed pistols. |

Description: |
Members taking and passing the Officer Candidate School qualification receive the OCS ribbon. OCS includes not only the duties of the officer Persona in-game, but also the duties of an officer member. The upper-level exams cover the duties of a Company Commander, and a Battalion-level officer. |

The basic ribbon has no attachments. Advanced NCO School is denoted by a pair of gold crossed rifles. The Sergeants Major Academy is denoted by a pair of silver crossed rifles. |

Description: |
Members taking and passing the NCO School courses receive the NCO School ribbon. The Basic NCO course involves the role of the NCO both in-game and out, as the members are responsible for assisting their lance mates with rules and calculations, and assisting their officers with admin duties. The Advanced NCO Course covers Company Senior NCOs and their role and duties. The Sergeants Major Academy covers Battalion and Regimental NCO duties. |

Members demonstrating the ability to perform the drill movements outlined on the Basic Drill Card will receive the Basic Drill Qualification ribbon. Members learning their Manual of Arms and basic marching will receive their Basic Armed Drill Qualification Ribbon. Members learning advanced Drill movements and exhibition drill will receive the Advanced Drill Qualification Ribbon. |

Shoulder Cord in the color of the member’s Lance Assignment (Black for staff). | The Basic qualification is a single color cord. Intermediate is a two-color cord with yellow, Advanced with gray. |

Members taking and passing the MechWarrior Qualification Course will be authorized to wear the qualification cord. This represents a member (and Persona) who has received the requisite training to function as a professional MechWarrior. The basic exam covers basic game rules and information about ‘Mechs and MechWarriors. The more advanced exams cover more in-depth topics including tech, military organization and basic tactics. |

Description: |
To advance in Enlisted Grade, each member must take and pass the Basic Mercenary Training course. This course covers the basics of military organization in the Succession Wars, customs and courtesies, the positions of Attention, Parade Rest and At Ease, the hand salute, and rank recognition. |
